Feature guides

A complete guide to every feature in Kwoat.

Auto mode

Auto mode analyses your prompt and selects the best model automatically. It considers task type, complexity, and your plan.

  • Simple or fast tasks → Standard models (Gemini 2.5 Flash, GPT-4o Mini)
  • Complex reasoning or code → Advanced or Premium models
  • Time-sensitive queries → automatically enables web search

Auto mode is on by default. The pill at the bottom left shows Auto. Click it to switch to a specific model, or leave it on for most tasks.

Web search

Web search gives any AI model access to current information from the live web — news, prices, scores, recent events, anything that changes over time.

How to use it

  1. Click the + button → Web search.
  2. A search chip appears in the input bar.
  3. Type your question and send.

How it works

  • Gemini models — Google Search grounding used natively at no extra credit cost.
  • All other models — Brave Search results injected into the prompt.
  • Auto mode triggers search automatically for time-sensitive queries.

Plan access and cost

  • Free: not available
  • Pay As You Go: 1¢ ($0.01) per search, charged from wallet
  • Pro: 5 Standard credits per search, drawn from Standard pool
  • Pro Max: free — unlimited searches included

From URL

Paste any public URL and Kwoat fetches the page content and passes it to the AI. Useful for analysing articles, documentation, blog posts, or any public web page.

How to use it

  1. Click +From URL.
  2. Paste the URL and confirm.
  3. Ask your question and send.

Limitations

  • Pages are truncated to 20,000 characters to fit the context window.
  • Paywalled or login-required content cannot be accessed.
  • Available on PayG, Pro, and Pro Max only.

Deep research

Deep research runs a multi-step research pipeline — generating 4 targeted search queries, running them in parallel, and synthesising the results into a structured report. Much more thorough than a single web search.

How to use it

  1. Click +Deep research.
  2. Describe your research topic clearly and send.
  3. Watch progress as Kwoat searches and synthesises in real time.

Plan limits

  • Free / Pay As You Go: not available

Image vision

Attach an image and ask questions about it. Supports description, text extraction, diagram analysis, chart reading, and object identification. All models except Llama 3.3 70B support vision.

Voice input (dictation)

Speak your message instead of typing. Kwoat transcribes your voice in real time and places the text in the input field for you to review and send.

How to use it

  1. Click the microphone icon in the chat input.
  2. Speak your message clearly.
  3. Click again to stop — your transcript appears in the input.
  4. Edit if needed, then send.

Voice live mode

A real-time two-way voice conversation with the AI — like a phone call. You speak, the AI responds in voice, and you can interrupt at any time.

How to use it

  1. Click the voice wave icon in the chat input.
  2. The live mode overlay opens with an animated visualizer.
  3. Start speaking — the AI responds in real time.
  4. Tap Interrupt to cut the AI off mid-response.
  5. Tap Mute to silence your microphone without ending the session.
  6. Tap End to close — the full transcript is saved to chat.

Plan limits

  • Free: not available
  • Pay As You Go: $0.15/min from wallet · 30 min/day · 10 min/session
  • Pro: 60 min/month included · 10 min/day · 10 min/session · wallet after
  • Pro Max: 300 min/month included · 30 min/day · 20 min/session · wallet after

Compare mode

Run the same prompt on multiple AI models simultaneously and compare their responses side by side. An AI judge (Claude Haiku) evaluates all responses and highlights the best one with a reason.

How to use it

  1. After any AI response, click the Compare button.
  2. Kwoat runs your prompt on additional models in parallel.
  3. Results appear side by side with an AI-generated judgement.
  4. Copy, regenerate, or use any individual response.

Cost

Each model response is charged separately at the normal per-model rate.

Document generation

Generate downloadable documents — Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF — from natural language. No templates, no manual formatting.

Supported formats

  • DOCX — reports, CVs, letters, proposals, contracts
  • PPTX — pitch decks, slide decks, training presentations
  • XLSX — budgets, financial models, trackers, loan amortisation schedules
  • PDF — invoices, certificates, forms, single-page documents

How to use it

  1. Describe what you need — e.g. "Create a 25-year savings projection for $1,500/month at 8% annual return"
  2. Kwoat generates the document and shows a preview card in chat.
  3. Click Preview to review, then Download.

Cost

Previewing in chat is always free. $0.35 charged to your wallet on download only. Pro users get 10 downloads/month included, Pro Max gets 50.

Image generation

Generate images from text descriptions. All images are automatically saved to your Gallery.

Available models

  • Nano Banana 2 — higher quality, contextual understanding — $0.15/image
  • FLUX.2 Klein — fast, cost-efficient — $0.04/image

Image options

  • Aspect ratio: square (1:1), landscape (16:9), portrait (9:16)
  • Negative prompt: describe what you don't want in the image
  • Enhance prompt: Kwoat automatically expands your prompt with style, lighting, and composition details before generating
  • Style: add a style modifier like "photorealistic", "oil painting", "3D render", "anime"

Image variations

After generating an image, click Variations to generate 3 independent variations of the same prompt. Each variation counts toward your image limit.

  • Nano Banana 2 variations: $0.45 (3 × $0.15)
  • FLUX.2 Klein variations: $0.12 (3 × $0.04)

Limits

  • Free: not available
  • Pay As You Go: wallet charged per image · no daily limit
  • Pro: 20 images/month included (both models share limit) · 5/day · wallet after
  • Pro Max: 100 images/month included · 10/day · wallet after

Video generation

Generate short cinematic videos from text descriptions using Kling 2.6 Pro. Choose 5-second or 10-second duration.

How to use it

  1. Click +Generate video.
  2. Select duration: 5 seconds ($1.50) or 10 seconds ($2.50).
  3. Describe the scene and send.
  4. Generation takes 1–3 minutes. Watch inline or download.

Tips for better videos

  • Describe camera movement and mood: "slow dolly shot through a misty forest at dawn"
  • Specify the subject clearly — vague prompts produce vague results
  • Avoid text in the scene — AI video models don't render readable text reliably
  • Use 10 seconds for scenes that need more development or transitions

Plan access and cost

  • Free: not available
  • Pay As You Go: wallet charged · 2/day limit
  • Pro: wallet charged · 2/day limit
  • Pro Max: 5 videos/month included · wallet after · 2/day limit

Code artifacts

When the AI generates code, it appears in a dedicated artifact panel with two tabs:Code (syntax-highlighted source) and Preview(live rendered output for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).

Click any code block's expand button to open the artifact panel. You can copy the full code, download it, or interact with the live preview directly.

Gallery

Your personal image history — every image you've generated, browsable and downloadable. Access from Gallery in the left sidebar.

  • Grid view — all images, most recent first
  • Filter by model and date
  • Lightbox — full-size view with prompt, model, and date
  • Download any image directly
  • Open in chat — jump back to the conversation where the image was created
  • Generate variations — create 3 independent variations from the lightbox

Conversation sharing

Share any conversation as a public read-only link. Anyone with the link can view it without logging in. Available on all plans.

How to share

  1. Click the menu next to a conversation in the sidebar.
  2. Select Share and copy the link.
  3. To revoke access, open the share modal and click Revoke link.

Memory

Kwoat remembers facts about you across conversations — your name, role, tech stack, projects, preferences — and uses them to personalise future responses without you having to repeat yourself.

Memory is enabled for all plans by default. Go to Settings → Data & Control → Memory to view, edit, or delete individual memories, or turn memory off entirely.

Integrations

Connect external services and use your own data directly in chat. Connected integrations are available as tools the AI can call when you ask it to.

Available now

  • GitHub — list files, read file contents, view issues, create issues in any repository you have access to. Connect from Settings → Integrations → GitHub.
  • Google Drive — list and read files from your Drive. Connect from Settings → Integrations → Google Drive.
  • Notion — search pages, read page content, create and append to pages in your workspace. Connect from Settings → Integrations → Notion.

How integrations work

Once connected, the AI gains access to those tools automatically. Just ask naturally — "What's in my main repo?", "Find the Q3 report in my Drive", "Search my Notion for the project brief". The AI only calls integrations when you explicitly ask it to.

Coming soon

LinkedIn, Gmail, and Slack integrations are in development.

Projects

Projects are persistent workspaces that group conversations or agent missions under shared context. Add instructions and sources once — Kwoat injects them into every conversation automatically.

Project types

  • Chat workspace — Group related conversations with shared instructions and sources. Ideal for ongoing work on a topic, codebase, or client.
  • Mission workspace — Persistent environment for agent missions. Files and workspace state carry over between missions. Pro Max only.

How to create a project

  1. Click + next to Projects in the sidebar.
  2. Choose Chat workspace or Mission workspace.
  3. Name it and click Create.
  4. Add instructions and sources from the project settings.

Instructions

A persistent system prompt injected at the start of every conversation in the project. Use it for project background, coding standards, tone preferences, or any context the AI always needs.

Sources

Attach files, URLs, or text snippets to a project:

  • File — PDF, Word, spreadsheet, code, or any supported format
  • URL — Kwoat fetches and stores the page content
  • Text — paste any text snippet directly

Agent missions

Agent missions are autonomous tasks where Kwoat's AI agent works independently — writing code, running commands, searching the web, and producing real output files in a cloud sandbox. Available on Pro Max only.

How to run a mission

  1. Go to Missions in the sidebar (Pro Max only).
  2. Describe your goal in detail and click Launch mission.
  3. Watch the live feed as the agent thinks, writes files, and runs commands.
  4. When a web server starts, a live preview appears — interact with it directly.
  5. When done, download your workspace as a ZIP or individual generated files.

Steering

Send instructions to the agent mid-mission. Type in the steer box at the bottom of Mission Studio — the agent receives your message and adjusts course on its next step.

Plan limits

  • Pro Max: 10 missions/month included · $2.50/mission overage from wallet
  • All other plans: not available
