Frequently asked questions

Billing & credits

What happens when my free credits run out?

Your 50 free starter credits are a one-time allocation. When they run out, you have two options:

  • Top up your wallet to continue on Pay As You Go
  • Upgrade to Pro for a full monthly credit allocation

You won't lose your conversation history — just top up and keep going.

What's the difference between credits and wallet balance?

Credits are your monthly allowance included with a Pro or Pro Max subscription. They reset each billing cycle and are split into Standard, Advanced, Premium, and Video pools.

Wallet balance is prepaid money you add manually. It's used for Pay As You Go requests, feature charges (web search, documents, voice, video), and as overflow when your monthly credits run out. Wallet balance never expires.

How much are Pro credits worth?

Pro includes 8,000 credits per month split across three pools: 5,500 Standard, 2,000 Advanced, and 500 Premium. Roughly: Standard models cost 1–3 credits per message, Advanced 3–15, Premium 10–50.

How much are Pro Max credits worth?

Pro Max includes 80,000 credits per month across four pools: 50,000 Standard, 20,000 Advanced, 10,000 Premium, and 5 video credits (5 included videos). Pro Max also includes 10 agent missions/month and unlimited web searches.

Will I be blocked if I run out of credits mid-conversation?

No. If your monthly credit pool runs out, Kwoat automatically switches to your wallet balance at the Pay As You Go rate. You're never blocked in the middle of a conversation. If your wallet is also empty, you'll see a prompt to top up before your next message.

Can I get a refund for my wallet top-up?

Wallet top-ups are generally non-refundable as stated in our Terms of Service. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@kwoat.ai and we'll review your case.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription. You'll keep Pro/Pro Max access until the end of your current billing period. No further charges will be made. You can resubscribe at any time.

What currencies do you support?

International users are billed in USD via Stripe. African users can pay in local currencies (NGN, KES, GHS, ZAR, UGX, TZS, EGP, ZMW) using mobile money, bank transfer, and cards via Flutterwave. Your currency is detected automatically from your location when you sign up.

Do subscription prices include tax?

Prices shown do not include applicable taxes (VAT, GST, etc.). Taxes are calculated at checkout based on your location and added to the displayed price where required.

Is annual billing available?

Yes. Annual plans give you 1 month free (8.3% saving) — Pro at $209/year ($17.42/month equivalent), Pro Max at $1,639/year ($136.58/month equivalent). To switch: cancel your current plan from the Subscription page, then resubscribe selecting the annual option. Your access continues until end of your current period.

Models & usage

What's the difference between Standard, Advanced, and Premium models?

Standard models (Gemini 2.5 Flash, GPT-4o Mini, Llama 3.3 70B, Mistral Small 4) are the fastest and most affordable. Advanced models (GPT-5.4, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grok 4.3) are more capable for complex tasks. Premium models (Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.7) are the most powerful for the hardest problems.

Which model is best for coding?

GPT-5.4 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 are both excellent for coding. Llama 3.3 70B is a strong option for standard coding tasks (note: it doesn't support image attachments). For the most complex architecture or debugging problems, Claude Opus 4.7 is the strongest choice.

How does Auto mode work?

Auto mode analyses your prompt and routes it to the best model for the task — considering whether it's creative, analytical, code-related, or requires web search. You don't need to think about model selection.

Are there rate limits?

Yes. Rate limits vary by plan:

  • Free: 5 requests per minute
  • Pay As You Go: 10 requests per minute
  • Pro: 30 requests per minute
  • Pro Max: 60 requests per minute

Can I use Claude on the Free plan?

No. Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Opus 4.7 are Premium tier models available on Pro and Pro Max only. Free users are limited to Standard tier models. Pay As You Go users can access Standard and Advanced tiers.

What is web search and does it cost extra?

Web search gives the AI access to live information from the internet.

  • Free: not available
  • Pay As You Go: 1¢ ($0.01) per search, charged from wallet
  • Pro: 5 Standard credits per search, drawn from your Standard pool
  • Pro Max: completely free — unlimited searches included

What is Deep Research?

Deep Research is a multi-step research feature that generates 4 targeted search queries, runs them in parallel, and synthesises the results into a structured report. Much more thorough than a single web search. Available on Pro (5/month) and Pro Max (20/month).

What is the From URL feature?

From URL lets you paste any public web page URL and Kwoat fetches the page content and passes it to the AI. Useful for analysing articles, documentation, or any public page without manually copy-pasting. Available on PayG, Pro, and Pro Max.

Features

What are Projects?

Projects are persistent workspaces that group conversations (Chat workspace) or agent missions (Mission workspace) under shared context. You add instructions and source files once, and Kwoat injects them into every conversation in the project automatically — so you never have to repeat background information.

Chat projects are available on all paid plans. Mission projects require Pro Max.

What are Agent Missions?

Agent missions are autonomous tasks where Kwoat's AI agent works independently to complete a goal — writing and running code, building applications, conducting research, and producing real output files in a cloud sandbox environment. The agent reasons step by step and keeps working until the task is done.

Missions are available on Pro Max only. 10 missions are included per month, with additional missions charged at $2.50 each from your wallet.

What integrations are available?

GitHub, Google Drive, and Notion are all live and available to connect now from Settings → Integrations. Once connected, the AI can read your repositories, Drive files, and Notion pages when you ask it to. LinkedIn, Gmail, and Slack are coming soon.

What are image variations?

After generating an image, you can click Variations to generate 3 independent variations of the same prompt. Each variation is a separate image generation and counts toward your monthly image limit. Nano Banana 2 variations cost $0.45 (3 × $0.15), FLUX.2 Klein variations cost $0.12 (3 × $0.04).

Can I generate 10-second videos?

Yes. When using video generation, you can choose between 5 seconds ($1.50) and 10 seconds ($2.50). The 10-second option is useful for scenes that need more development or transitions. Both lengths use Kling 2.6 Pro.

Privacy & data

Do you use my conversations to train AI models?

No. We do not use your conversation content to train AI models. Your prompts are transmitted to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, etc.) for processing, but Kwoat itself does not use your conversations for training.

What data does Kwoat store?

We store your account information, conversation history, usage records, and payment data. We do not store raw API keys or full card numbers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Data & Control → Delete account. Your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.

Can I export my conversations?

Yes. Go to Settings → Data & Control → Export my data. You'll get a JSON file containing all your conversations.

What is Kwoat Memory?

Memory is a feature that lets Kwoat remember facts about you across conversations — your name, job, preferences, projects. This personalises future responses. You can view, disable, or delete individual memories from Settings → Data & Control → Memory. You can also turn memory off entirely.

Is Kwoat GDPR compliant?

We take privacy seriously and have implemented GDPR-aligned practices including data access rights, deletion rights, data portability, and privacy by design. If you have a specific GDPR request, contact privacy@kwoat.ai.

Account & security

How do I sign up?

You can create an account using Google, GitHub, or email and password. No credit card is required — every new account gets a small starter balance to try Kwoat.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Go to the login page and click "Forgot password?" Enter your email address and we'll send you a reset link. If you signed up with Google or GitHub, you don't have a password — use the same social login button.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Go to Settings → Access & Security → Two-factor authentication → Set up. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or any TOTP app) and enter the 6-digit code to confirm. SMS-based 2FA is not supported — app-based TOTP only.
