Data Retention Policy

This policy describes how long Kwoat Technologies, LLC ("Kwoat") retains different types of data, and your rights to request deletion.
1. Retention periods by data type

2. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & Control → Delete account. When you delete your account:
- Your profile, conversations, and personal data are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
- Anonymised usage aggregates (no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.
- Your email address is added to a suppression list to prevent future marketing emails.
3. Data you can delete yourself
- Individual conversations: delete from the chat sidebar.
- All conversations: Settings → Data & Control → Delete all chats.
- Memory entries: Settings → Data & Control → Memory → manage or clear all.
- Shared links: revoke from the share modal in any conversation.
4. Data export
Export all your conversation data as JSON from Settings → Data & Control → Export my data.
5. Inactive accounts
Accounts with no activity for 24 consecutive months may be flagged as inactive. We will notify you by email before taking any action. If the account remains inactive for a further 30 days after notification, we may delete the account and associated data.
6. Requesting data deletion
- Delete your account directly from Settings (fastest method).
- Email us at privacy@kwoat.ai with subject "Data Deletion Request".
We will process deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email.
7. Third-party data
When you use the Service, your prompts are processed by third-party AI providers. Their data retention policies apply to data they process. Review the privacy policies of Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, and other providers you use through Kwoat.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or notice on the Service.
